Internet Research
You are a busy writer and your time is valuable. Searching through millions of web pages to find facts and information can take hours. Those are hours you would rather be using to take care of tasks that provide high value.
Let me do the research, freeing up your time to work on pieces of the project that create maximum value. I start with a Research Request Document to gather details of the project such as the type of promotion, topic, related keywords and questions. Next I hit the major search engines, discussion forums, and authoritative sights on the subject. The results are collated in the Research Deliverable Document which includes relevant web page information and the URL of the source.
Fact Checking
On occasion you may run across a factoid or set of facts that need to be verified or expanded upon. You'll want to know if the fact is legit and if it can be backed up by reliable sources.
I use the same internet researching skills to delve deeper into the facts. Results include a list of verifiable sources and any added details that could be of interest.
Photo Research
Instead of hiring a photographer to take photos related your subject, it is a common practice to use "royalty free" photography. There are thousands of "royalty free" photos on the internet, and you could spend hours browsing through photos to find a few that work.
I will save you valuable time by sifting through photos on such "royalty free" sights as iStockPhoto and GettyImages. The links to these images are sent to you for approval, and useage requirements are clearly provided.
Customer Surveys
Customer experience and preferences are important pieces of information that help the copywriter and content creator focus on the key points to use in connecting with their reader.
I work with you to develop pertinent questions to gather information on what the prospect thinks, feels, and believes. Then using one of the popular online survey tools, such as SurveyMonkey and SurveyGizmo, a highly targeted survey is created. The results will be collected and forwarded to you upon completion of the survey period.
Customer Interviews
If you need more information than an online survey can provide, customer interviews are the next step. These interviews can be either separate from the survey or as follow-up with the survey takers.
I interview the customer, asking questions similar to the survey, and probe deeper into other aspects of the question when needed. These interviews are recorded and a transcription is prepared and sent to the client.
Editing & Proofreading
You've spent many hours crafting that informational piece and believe it is time for submittal. But have you caught all of the spelling and gramatical errors? Are there areas that don't quite make sense or properly present your points?
